Lincoln Theatre, Washington, DC
Week: 367
This week’s thing: If an SNL cast member, current or former, is coming to town to do stand-up, and I don’t already have tickets to something else, you can bet your ass I’m gonna go. I’ve seen Pete Davidson twice before and loved the show both times. I was so glad to get to see him again, even if it was a phones-in-pouches experience.
Funniness: 5/5: Loved the set, a lot of which was spent talking about a stalker Pete dealt with a few years ago. It wasn’t a completely original take on having a stalker (and I feel like I’d be a little flattered by having one too tbh…) but it was tight and hilarious.
Originality: 4/5: I love Pete’s style and do find it to be pretty original, but deducting one meaningless point because of what I just mentioned, right up there^
Bonus points:
Opener quality: -1, opener Joey Gay was maybe having an off night? Not my thing.
Did I cry? +1, congrats Pete
Fashion: +1 to Pete for wearing his best Netflix-and-chill all-black sweatsuit, the outfit he wears when I picture him in my mind (which I’m always doing)
Final: 9/10
